Royal Thai Navy – 28 November 2025: SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, a leading integrated polymer and solutions provider for sustainability, is urgently accelerating its assistance efforts for flood victims within Hat Yai Municipality in Songkhla Province. Recognizing the significant challenges in accessing inundated areas to assist people and transport large quantities of belongings from flooded zones, SCGC has adapted its high-quality floating pontoon innovation, originally designed as a key component of SCGC Floating Solar Solutions, to serve as “rescue rafts.” These rafts can be deployed for various missions, such as acting as temporary docks for volunteer jet ski teams and other rescue units.

SCGC, in collaboration with the SCG Foundation, has delivered a total of 60 high-quality floating pontoons to the Royal Thai Navy. Admiral Pairoj Fueangchan, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, presided over the handover. The pontoons have already been transported to Songkhla Province, supported by the joint logistics efforts of the Royal Thai Navy and SCGJWD.

SCGC’s high-quality floating pontoons feature a modular design, enabling versatile applications such as the assembly of “rescue rafts” or “floating walkways” with safety and efficiency. Each unit supports up to 150 kilograms per square meter. They are robust and designed to withstand volatile environmental conditions, providing reliable buoyancy against wind and waves. Furthermore, the pontoons are designed for easy and rapid assembly.
SCGC and the SCG Foundation extend their support and moral encouragement to all sectors involved, expressing hope that the crisis will improve quickly and that everyone will remain safe.
